On Friday 10th January 2020 Charlie, Lucy & Matt jumped in a Pink Lamp van and set out around Cambridge on a special mission. Each year Arthur Rank Hospice run a ‘treecyling’ scheme to raise money to support the charity. People register their tree to be collected for free (a small donation is always welcome) and then the volunteers set to work!
Starting from the temporary base at Shelford Rugby club, the groups of volunteers are given a route map and instructions of where the trees will be left. The Pink Lamp team managed to collect a whopping 79 trees!
The scheme is growing year on year and this year hopes to raise over £30,000 to support the hospice and the people who greatly appreciate the service that it offers.
Charlie said “I have seen the awesome work Arthur Rank do first hand as my Dad spent a short time at the hospice before passing away in 2015. Cancer is a horrible thing to have to deal with but i think the support of Arthur Rank makes it that little bit easier for the families and patients”
